Electric Stimulation

Electric muscle stimulation (E-stim) is a treatment option for rehabilitation from injury. E-stim speeds up the body's natural recovery process by providing electrical impulses to nerve endings in an area of injury, soothing nerve endings, relieving pain, reducing swelling, and promoting general muscle tone. Many high-level athletes use E-stim after vigorous physical activity to reduce swelling and minimize soreness.

What to Expect

  • Relieves pain and reduces swelling in injured areas.
  • Speeds up the body's natural healing and recovery process.
  • Electrodes are placed on the skin above the affected soft tissue to deliver brief, controlled electric impulses.
  • Strengthens and helps repair soft tissue, particularly weakened, shortened, or injured muscles.
  • Blocks pain receptors that send pain signals from the injury site to the brain.
  • Helps athletes reduce muscle stiffness and maintain muscle warmth between activities.
  • Impulse intensity is adjustable based on treatment area and patient preference.
